UK TIER 1 VISA FOR HIGHLY SKILLED WORKERS

UK Tier 1 – General Visa 

This category replaces the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) and is a sub category applying to highly skilled migrants searching for a job or wishing to become self employed in the United Kingdom. This is a Points Based System where applicants are awarded point for attributes such as age, previous or prospective salary and qualification.

Tier 1 is now closed to applications made from abroad.

UK Tier 1 Investor Visa 

This sub-category offers a 3 year grant of leave to those who wish to invest £1,000,000.00 in the UK

UK Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa 

This sub-category is for those wishing to set up or take over a business(es) that they will be actively involved in running in the UK and grants 3 years leave. 

UK Tier 1 – Post Study Work Visa 

This is again Points Based applicable to a Highly Skilled Worker (Post Study Work) and in order to qualify you must be able to show that you have the funds to support yourself and any dependants; in the case of the applicant this is £2,800 and a further £1,600 for each accompanying dependant or dependant planning to join you within 12 months of your arrival in the UK.

Transitional Arrangements for the HSMP 

Those part way through the process of making application to the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) or those who have permission to stay (leave to enter or leave to remain) as a Highly Skilled Migrant and want to extend their stay fall under the transitional arrangements.
