UK TIER 2 VISAS – SKILLED WORKER

UK Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa

Tier 2 applications under the Points Based System have now replaced UK Work Permits and apply to medium and highly skilled workers (also known as Sponsored Workers) who want to come to the UK and have an offer of employment from a UK Sponsoring Company.

UK Tier 2 – General Skilled Worker Category

This category is for people coming to the UK with a skilled job offer to fill a gap in the workforce that cannot be filled by a settled worker earning a salary of at least £150,000.00.

UK Tier 2 – Intra Company Transfer

To claim points as an Intra-Company Transferee the applicant must have worked for the organisation for at least 6 months preceding the date of application outside the UK; and/or as a Intra Company Transfer migrant. This category allows the transfer by an overseas organisation to a skilled post in a UK Branch of the same organisation.

UK Tier 2 – Sportsperson

This category is for elite sportspeople and coaches established globally at the highest level and who must have a Valid Certificate of Sponsorship in order to claim points.

UK Tier 2 – Minister of Religion

In order to qualify in this category the applicant must be coming to fill a job position as a religious worker with a religious organisation; ie. Minister of Religion, missionary, member of a religious order and who must have a Valid Certificate of Sponsorship in order to claim points. This category includes anyone who acts as a minister, whether regularly or on a one off occasion and/or performs pastoral duties.

Some of the above categories are currently subject to capping.
